Mr. Louis M. Perlman – Founding Sponsor: Louis Perlman is an accomplished private businessman, entrepreneur, board director and wealth manager. Since starting his first company in London in 1970, he has engaged successfully in investing, managing and building businesses. Mr. Perlman’s experience defines a broad range of businesses, primarily in property but also healthcare, publishing, and manufacturing in North America and Europe. He has been an active investor in both privately controlled and publicly listed companies, particularly turnaround situations. Mr. Perlman earned his BA Honors degree at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, and his M.Sc. degree at the University of London and is a member of the New York and Florida Bars. A permanent resident of the United States, Mr. Perlman is a Dutch citizen.
Ms. Luciana Busatto – Program Manager: Luciana Busatto is the 2015-2016 InterCultural Forum Project Manager. Before accepting this opportunity, Luciana was an intern at the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality (UN Women) at the Strategic Partnerships Division. Luciana has a MA in Diplomacy and International Relations focusing on Latin America and Global Negotiation, Conflict Management from Seton Hall University. Luciana was born and raised in Brazil, where she has worked with different NGOs focused on community development. She earned her BA in Business Administration from the Federal University of Espirito Santo. Luciana is currently working to bring back the Encountering Culture and Beliefs workshop to NYC schools.
Mr. Frank Fredericks – Advisor: After graduating from New York University’s Music Business program, Frank Fredericks worked shortly in the music industry, managing artists such as Lady Gaga, producing recordings, and founding Çöñàr Records. While doing independent research in Egypt on Christian-Muslim relations, he became inspired to found World Faith. Mr. Fredericks also consults for non-profits, corporations, recording artists, and political campaigns on web issues ranging from viral video and social networks to SEO and advertising. He is an active blogger, contributing on issues ranging from business, technology, religion, and music, including the Huffington Post’s Religion section. Mr. Fredericks presented World Faith to the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations Forum in 2010. He has been interviewed on Good Morning America, NPR, New York Magazine, and various international media outlets. He currently resides in Astoria, New York.
Mary Katherine Sheena – Education Advisor: Mary Katherine teaches Theology, Philosophy, and Ethics at Regis High School in New York City. In the spring of 2012, Ms. Sheena worked with ICF to host the first U.S.-based Encountering Cultures and Beliefs workshop at Regis High School. Ms. Sheena serves on the U.S. advisory board for the Face to Faith program, a schools program developed by the Tony Blair Faith Foundation which gives students the opportunity through videoconferencing to engage young people around the world on faith and global issues. Before becoming a teacher, Ms. Sheena worked at the First Amendment Center for Religious Liberty and Religion scholar with Charles Haynes. She received a BA in Religion from Princeton University and an MA in Ethics from Yale Divinity School.
Stephen Shashoua – Advisor: Stephen is the former Director of the London based Three Faiths Forum (3FF). Having joined 3ff in 2004, Stephen has led the development of 3FF into one of the UK’s largest and most delivery orientated interfaith and inter-communal organizations. With offices in Jerusalem and sustained projects in New York and across Europe, he continues to find solutions to conflicts between communities and to promote interaction, cooperation and learning between people of all cultural and religious backgrounds.
